On 12 June 2024 - The Petőfi Literary Museum's exhibition entitled "Halcyon Days - Fashion and Culture in Reform-Age Pest" opened, featuring an engraving depicting George Sand which was loaned from the ELTE University Library and Archives.

The National Széchényi Library (NSZL) and Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) have agreed that NSZL will digitize almost 200,000 ELTE paper-based doctoral dissertations and theses by 2027. Through the cooperation, ELTE students and researchers have access to the institution's rich knowledge base in a modern form, thus supporting scientific research and innovative technological developments.

The Sabbathsong Klezmer Band soloists and the world famous cimbalom player Jenő Lisztes will perform Monti's Charda and other popular works alongside klezmer melodies at the concert „More than Klezmer on the Night of Museums” on the 22nd of June 2024 at 8.30 pm. In the footsteps of astronomical and geographical discoveries, the performers will recall a private song by Gyula Kabos from 1919, and show how Columbus discovered America.

On the occasion of the Night of Museums, on the 22th of June 2024 from 6.00 pm at the ELTE University Library and Archives in the Lobby (1053 Budapest, Ferenciek tere 6.), a string quartet consisting of members of the ELTE „Eötvös” Art Ensemble will give a concert with Edit Kollár (violin), Judit Gombás (violin), Mónika Mezei (viola) and Zsuzsanna Kéri (cello). All visitors are welcome!

The ELTE University Library and Archives offers extended opening hours for readers and students on weekdays and Saturdays between the 6th of May 2024 and the 15th of June 2024 until 22.00 hours. Our new community space offers the opportunity to learn, relax, use kitchen facilities and free computer access. Everyone is welcome and we wish all our students a successful semester and exam period!
