The ELTE–NFI FILMIO University Film Club’s series of screenings and discussions continues. We welcome students from all ELTE faculties.
A surreal, fantastical, romantic crime comedy about a cursed nurse, love and the difficulties of finding a partner. This story, with its unique visual style and dry humor, is set in Wonderpest, an alternative version of the 1970s. On her thirtieth birthday, the shy nurse Liza resolves to finally find a partner. However, her prospective suitors die one after another in accidents each more bizarre than the last, which not only arouses the suspicion of the vigilant guardians of order but also leaves Liza pensive and filled with doubt. Could she be cursed? And how does Tomy Tani, the ghost of a late Japanese pop star whom only Liza can see, fit into the picture? While the nurse tries to break the curse, Inspector Zoltán, the only Hungarian fan of Finnish country music, also begins to investigate.
