Gale Publishing is providing ELTE citizens with full access to the Gale Academic OneFile database, which can be accessed with an institutional (Shibboleth) login, until 1 May 2026. The collection contains more than 19,000 journal articles from many scientific fields, including biology, medicine, economics, environmental science, psychology, and literature. The database is accessible via a direct link and offers extensive research resources for ELTE students and faculty.

Qulto held its annual professional day on February 25, 2026 at the Szabó Ervin Library in Budapest, where ELTE was represented by Research Support Librarian Tibor Móring with a presentation that aroused great interest. The presentation presented the results and goals of the curriculum repository subproject, with a special emphasis on the archiving, organization and reusability of digital curriculum materials, as well as the upload and visibility options offered to educators. The presentation also addressed the unique features of the repository, tailored to curriculum management, and how it can support collaboration and knowledge sharing among educators.

The volume "Commemorative Medals and Plaques from the Collections of Eötvös Loránd University" has been published, presenting more than 500 pieces related to the history of the university with rich images and detailed descriptions. The material from the eight collections traces a diverse historical arc from the end of the 18th century to the present day, with medals related to jubilee, scientific history and university events. The book is a valuable publication from the perspectives of numismatics, cultural history and university history, edited by museologist Georgina Schlay.

Wiley is hosting an English-language webinar for researchers, faculty and students from EISZ consortium member institutions, providing practical guidance on successful Open Access publishing. Participants will learn about the benefits of Open Access publishing, the opportunities provided by the Wiley Read & Publish agreement, and receive advanced tips from manuscript preparation to the review process. The event will conclude with a Q&A session, and participation is subject to prior registration.

Clarivate is launching a five-part webinar series in English for PhD students, providing practical support for developing research and publication skills. Topics include literature searches, publication visibility, measuring research impact, and researcher profile building, and each session can be attended individually. Registration is required to participate, and recordings of the webinars will be made available to all participants.

The ELTE University Library and Archives held four online lectures on the most important principles of managing, sharing and archiving research data in February 2026. The events provided an overview of the research data management lifecycle, the FAIR guidelines and the grants available at ELTE to approximately thirty participants. The materials of the lectures are available in the ELTE Digital Institutional Knowledge Base, and the staff of the Education and Research Support Department will assist with further questions.

ELTE will participate in the Royal Society Open Access membership program for one year from 1st March 2026. Under the program, ELTE affiliated authors receive a 25% discount on the APC fee for open access publications in several selected journals of the Royal Society.

In 2026, ELTE will subscribe to a wide range of domestic and international databases under the EISZ program, including prestigious journal packages, scientific archives and dictionary services. Access will include databases from Akadémiai Kiadó, Cambridge University Press, Clarivate, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley and many other publishers. In addition, the university will provide access to Arcanum Newspapers with a separate subscription until 31 December 2026, and further information can be requested at eisz@lib.elte.hu.

The ELTE EKL Savaria Library and Archives has been enriched with two new pictures. Professor László Hadrovics' painting complements the linguist's library legacy. A photographic reproduction of Ágoston Pável from 1911 has been placed in the memorial room of the poet, linguist and ethnographer. Both works are on display on the second floor of the library.

The ELTE University Library and Archives is holding an online training on the management of research data and the preparation of a data management plan for NKFIH NKKP applications. Participants can learn about the concept, types, creation methods of research data, and the role of data repositories and other data storage support tools. Registration is possible for the lectures, which are available at multiple times and have the same content, and the connection link will be sent to applicants by e-mail.
