Within the framework of the Night of Museums program series, calligrapher Dezső Buzogány will hold a workshop on the 20th of June 2026 between 15:00 and 24:00 in the hall of the ELTE University Library and Archives (1053 Budapest, Ferenciek tere 6.). Our guests are able to gain an insight into the art of calligraphy.

According to our tradition, we will join the Night of Museums on the 20th of June 2026. From 3 p.m. in the afternoon until midnight, our library welcomes all visitors with craft activities, fire enamelling and calligraphy workshops, animated film screenings, adventure tours, recipe collections, concerts, building tours, guided tours and restoration workshops. Tickets will be available at the entrance from the 1st of June 2026.

The ELTE–NFI FILMIO University Film Club screening and discussion series continues. We welcome university members from all ELTE faculties. In celebration of Mother’s Day and the upcoming Children’s Day, we warmly invite children and families to join us. (The film is recommended for ages 12 and up.)

The ELTE University Library and Archives offers extended opening hours in the Great Reading Hall and in the community space for readers and students between the 4th of May 2026 and the 13th of June 2026, staying open until 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays. Our community space offers the opportunity to learn, relax, use kitchen facilities and free computer access. The self-service facilities in the lobby will continue to be available with a valid library card on weekdays from 7:00 a.m. and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m.

As part of Cultural Connection Day on 23 April 2026, international and domestic students were able to obtain information about our library services and available databases at the ELTE University Library booth on the Lágymányos Campus.

Bentham Science Publishers is providing three-month trial access to its journals to EISZ member institutions, including ELTE, between April 1 and June 30. The publisher, which focuses on the fields of natural sciences, engineering and medicine, offers more than 130 journals indexed in international databases, which can be accessed from the ELTE network, via VPN or Shibboleth. During the trial period, Open Access publishing is also available to ELTE-affiliated authors, the conditions and technical details of which will be provided by the university library.

The student needs and satisfaction survey organised by the Quality Assurance Office is available through the Neptun system in Hungarian and English until 29 April 2026.

Our series, titled „Mosaics from the Heritage of ELTE”, presents some of the outstanding cultural heritage of Eötvös Loránd University. The artwork of the month is the Péter Pázmány University Commemorative Cup.

Clarivate warmly invites all interested participants to its webinar designed for researchers, librarians, and research support professionals. Built around the responsible use of AI in the scholarly environment, the webinar introduces AI-powered tools developed by Clarivate that support research workflows, along with practical guidance on how to use them. The webinar is available in both English and Hungarian.

In the K21 Quality Management Coordination Committee’s first-quarter report for 2026, the working group leaders provided an overview of the results from the past quarter, as well as ongoing work and changes.

On the Hungarian Poetry Day, the ELTE ULA Savaria Library and Archives presented Ágoston Szauer's poetry collection Mindenek bögét, which was based on a dialogue between the poet and the reader, in an intimate evening. The discussion was led by his son, Dániel Szauer, thus highlighting the author's personal and creative processes, while also providing insight into the background of the divine, transcendent poems in the volume. Readings and musical contributions brought the poems to life, and the event became a celebration of the encounter between generations and art forms.

With the support of the ELTE University Film Club, the National Cultural Fund (NKA), and the Hungarian Documentary Filmmakers’ Association (MADOKE), we are launching a documentary film series featuring works by Hungarian filmmakers. The next screening will feature Márton Vizkelety’s 2025 film My Chemical Information System. All interested parties are warmly invited to attend the event.

To mark Hungarian Poetry Day, on April 8, 2026 (Wednesday) at 4:00 p.m., poet Ágoston Szauer, a teacher at ELTE’s Bolyai Training Institute in Szombathely, will present his latest collection of poems, titled Mindenek mögött (Behind Everything), in the event hall on the second floor of the ELTE ULA Savaria Library and Archives.
